The Colombian airline announced on Tuesday that it will resume its service between Logan Airport in Boston and Bogota beginning on March 27. In 2019, the airline decided to cancel the flight as part of an effort to boost profits.
As a result of resuming service on this route, Avianca is now able to offer flights to 11 different cities in the United States. This is good news for airport taxi and shuttle service providers in Boston. At Boston Airport Shuttle we provide private shuttles using minivans from and to Logan Airport.
A 180-seater Airbus A320 will be used for five weekly nonstop flights. The flights will leave Boston on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and Sundays.
Additionally, in March, Avianca will begin service on three additional routes connecting Bogota with Brazil and Honduras.
By opening these new bases and beginning service on these new routes, Avianca is “proud to provide new connectivity options for millions of travelers in Colombia, the United States, Brazil, and Honduras,” said Manuel Ambriz, Avianca’s chief commercial officer.
Twenty-one new corridors were opened in 2022, and another twenty will do so in 2023. Our network, already one of the largest in Latin America, is being strengthened by this new, more adaptable offering to our customers.
New route tickets are now available for purchase. A representative for Avianca said that the airline will soon announce plans to add a second Logan route, connecting Boston and San Salvador in Central America.
